A horse is more than just a horse. They become part of our soul. They know our thoughts, our feelings, our fears, and usually, before we ourselves do. When it's time for that special horse to gallop tirelessly across heaven's green pastures, we are here to help keep that horse's spirit alive.
Hair can be harvested before a horse passes. This is quite easy and painless for the horse. Simply find the end of the horse's tail bone and snip a section of the longest hair from the center of the tail. The rest of the tail will cover what was cut.
If the horse has passed, hair can be harvested as described above, or the entire tail can be cut off at the end of the tail bone.
For either method, after the hair is cut, place rubber bands in 2-3 places along the length of the hair, coil into a baggy, and mark with the horse's name, your name, and the date. No washing is necessary - it's much easier to wash after we have worked it into "pulls."
